What is Boy Scouting?
Boy Scouting is a year-round program for boys 11 through 17
designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program
and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster. (Boys
also may become Boy Scouts if they have earned the Cub Scouting Arrow of
Light Award and are at least 10 years old, or have completed the fifth grade
and are at least 10 years old.) It is also an opportunity for you to take a
peek at jobs that you would like to hold in the future. That is what the
merit badge portion of the program is all about. You will be immersed in
learning in a fun and adventurous environment. You will learn to not only
depend on yourself but to totally believe in yourself. Scouting isn't easy.
But the rewards far outweigh the trials. Don't wait! Your Eagle Scout Rank
will help you soar for the rest of your life.
